A Bold New Look, An Expansive New Vision

We’ve got the same passion and heart, and we are ready to raise the bar for staff care worldwide.

You might have noticed that Headington Institute looks a bit different these days! New logo, new colors, new services — there’s a lot to explore! Over the past five years Headington Institute has: expanded its vision and mission, reorganized its services, renewed its leadership, and prepared to grow its impact through innovation. Crafting a revitalized visual presence is the final step in this collaborative transformation.

How We Got Here

Headington Institute has always been driven by the compassion, care, and commitment of its clinical team. And over the past five years, we’ve grown in the scope of services we offer and the vision that guides us. 

Throughout his tenure as Executive Director, our co-founder Dr. Jim Guy continually challenged us to explore how our organization could grow to meet the ever changing needs of a global society. The pandemic gave us the opportunity to evaluate our organization’s identity and vision for the future: what had we done and what could we do? Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, board members and staff discussions made it clear: whatever challenges we hoped to tackle, our next executive would play a foundational role in carrying on our mission-driven focus and charting our future course.

In January 2023, Dr. Jim Guy retired from his role as Executive Director after 22 years of visionary leadership. After an extensive and reflective process, our Board of Directors invited Dr. Diane Flannery—an experienced, globally-focused leader—to embrace our legacy and guide our team into the next chapter of growth. Sustaining this planned growth was a top concern for all involved, and so Dr. Jim Guy inaugurated the Headington Institute Foundation, established to fund the work of Headington Institute for the next generations.

In her first six months as our CEO, Dr. Diane Flannery worked with staff, board and stakeholders to identify the core elements of the historic Headington Institute service model and determine how the organization would like to continue to serve and grow.

Revitalizing Our Organizational Vision

Together, our CEO, board, staff, and stakeholders created a strategic plan: “Headington 2030” that identifies the infrastructure we need to build over the next seven years to support the innovation we believe in. At this time, we also worked to bring our organization’s mission, vision, and values into alignment with our strategic plan. Our new Vision, Mission, and Values reflect not only what we’ve accomplished thus far, but also what we hope to do in the future.

OUR MISSION

To be a catalyst for shaping the future of sustainable work by delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health solutions to organizations and their staff operating in high-stress settings worldwide. We do this by conducting original research, which informs our individual and organizational assessments and interventions. This allows us to develop tailored and unique products and services in person and digitally that are trauma-informed to support organizations and their staff to thrive.

Our New Visual Identity

Once the new Vision, Mission and Values were approved by our board, we wanted our online and visual identity to fully represent the organization we are becoming. We partnered with a local digital agency to create a new visual language that matched our bold trajectory.

The new brand builds on past success and positions Headington to be pioneers by innovating new ways to support staff in high-stress settings to be resilient and thrive. The brand is bold, innovative, future-ready, and looking beyond what we already know how to do.
