A Grantmaking Foundation Supporting Those Who Serve
We support nonprofit organizations that strengthen resilience and wellbeing for helpers, responders, and caregivers.
Welcome!
The Headington Institute Foundation (HIF) is a private grant making foundation
dedicated to strengthening the emotional and physical wellbeing of those who
serve others. We support nonprofits that care for international humanitarian aid
workers, domestic emergency responders, and community caregivers. To
advance this work, the foundation awards invitation-only program, capacity-
building, general operating, and research grants to U.S.-based public charities
under section 501(c)(3).
A Short History
For twenty-five years, the Headington Institute provided counseling, consulting,
educational, and research services to support the resilience and trauma recovery
of aid workers and emergency responders worldwide. In late 2025, the Institute
discontinued direct services, transferring all remaining intellectual property and
financial resources to Headington Institute Foundation. This legacy informs the
foundation’s grant-making program.
